About Me

Hey, y’all! Welcome to Southern Roads and Rhythms a place to enjoy entertaining southern destinations, music and southern charm at a leisurely pace.

Travel and music are two of my favorite things in life. I live in Nashville, Tennessee, also known as Music City, where I can see and hear live music any day of the week. But Nashville and Tennessee are way more than just music. And, indeed the entire south is full or rich culture, entertaining adventures, and fascinating history.

I love visiting new places and learning all about a new city or state while finding hidden gems off the beaten path. Whether it’s a new place, a songwriter round, a full band performance, a festival, a cool museum, an historical site, or a unique and tasty meal or dessert, I can’t wait to experience it. And I look forward to sharing it with you.

The information you find on this site is geared for travelers who are 50+ years old. While there is still a spring my step, I have always wanted to take my time when exploring a new area. I’ve never liked to pack my schedule so tight there is no room to breathe or experience something unexpected. And sometimes I just don’t want to be stuck in the middle of a bunch of crazy drunk people!

So this site is focused on exploring a more relaxed itinerary and avoiding too much craziness. We’ll still have a LOT of fun and have memorable experiences, but we’ll do it in a style and at a pace that fits us best.

I’ll also share tips with you on how to save money while enjoying the charms of the south.

On this site you will find articles, videos, tours, itineraries, and helpful information for trips all around the southern United States. I’m starting in Nashville and Tennessee, but will expand out more as this site grows.

So, pull up a chair and sit a spell while I take you on a Southern adventure.
